New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in the national capital on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir over his absence in Parliamentary Standing Committee of Urban Development on air pollution in Delhi, National Spokesperson and National Executive Member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Raghav Chadha said, "Today, a very important meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee was called by the Lok Sabha secretariat in which 29 MPs were invited to participate. Some senior bureaucrats in the Government of India, in MCD and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) were also invited in the meeting." Delhi BJP stages protest outside AICC office over Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Rafale verdict

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a massive protest outside All India Congress Committee (AICC) office in the national capital on November 15. They demanded an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remark on Rafale verdict. The protest was led by Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari. He was accompanied by BJP senior leader Vijay Goel, Leader of Opposition in Delhi and MLA from Rohini assembly constituency Vijender Gupta. Several women workers of BJP also took part in the protest.

Parrot smuggling gang busted in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur (UP), Nov 15 (ANI): Wildlife Crime Control Bureau along with the help of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) busted a gang who were smuggling endangered parrots. Six persons including a woman have been apprehended. The gang was smuggling the parrots from Bahraich to Gorakhpur. Around 500 parrots have been seized.

Student set himself ablaze in school washroom in Navi Mumbai

CJI Ranjan Gogoi pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat

Delhi Govt will carry out cleaning of septic tanks for free: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on November 15 said that his government has started a scheme in which it will carry out cleaning of septic tanks for free. Giving details of the scheme he asserted, "We are launching Mukhya Mantri septic tank safai yojana. Tendering will be done by next month. The government will carry out the cleaning of septic tanks for free. DJB trucks will be deployed for this purpose."

Heated argument breaks out between protestors and Ashwini Choubey in Bihar

'Joint cooperation of all agencies is needed': Prakash Javadekar on curbing pollution

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): The pollution level of Delhi and neighboring states has deteriorated. Speaking on it, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar said, "We are very serious on the issue of pollution. I started in 2015, for the first time, to recognize the concept of air-shade. It is not Delhi geographical boundary but is the air-shade which is impacted and for that cooperation of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi government, three MCDs, NDMC, DDA, involve of all agencies is required. So, we started the joint action plan which is short term, medium term and long term and the progress has been done." He further said, "I have always said that this is not the blame game but actually, a joint cooperation of all agencies is needed."

Odd-Even scheme will extend if air quality doesn't improve in 2-3 days: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on November 25 said that if the air quality in Delhi doesn't improve in next 2-3 days then the state government will take decision on extending Odd-Even vehicle scheme on November 18. "As per weather forecast, air quality in Delhi to improve in the next 2-3 days. If the air quality doesn't improve, we will take a decision on extending Odd-Even vehicle scheme on November 18," said Kejriwal. Odd-Even scheme was initially implemented from November 4 to November 15.

New Delhi, Nov 15 (ANI): Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Prakash Javadekar said that the government is withdrawing the 'draft' prepared for amendments to the Indian Forest Act, 1927. He said, "Modi government for the last 5 years has always worked in the interest of tribals and forest dwellers. We have not only supported their finances but also ensured MSP (Minimum Support Price) for their forest produced. Therefore, our action speaks loudly than whatever is written anywhere and therefore, Modi government is known as tribal's friend." He further said, "Therefore, we have taken the decision that not to give any space to misgiving, we are completely withdrawing the so-called 'draft.'"

Fathima suicide case: DMK holds protest outside IIT Madras

Chennai, Nov 15 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) students' wing on November 15 held a protest outside IIT Madras over suicide of a student. Fathima Lateef committed suicide allegedly over religious persecution. The deceased's parents recovered a mobile phone note that named a member of the faculty as the reason for her death. Chennai Police transferred the case to Central Crime Branch (CCB). Police began preliminary investigation. The first year student of an integrated MA programme in the humanities was found dead in her hostel room last week.
