Hardeep Singh Puri accompanies heads of foreign missions for Golden Temple visit

New Delhi, Oct 22 (ANI): Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri accompanied heads of foreign missions to a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The delegation will take part in celebrations related to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Hardeep Singh Puri also met the delegation prior to accompanying them in their visit.

Shahjahanpur case: Gangster Act should be invoked against woman's father in extortion case, says Chinmayanand's lawyer

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 22 (ANI): Former union minister Chinmayanand's lawyer, Pooja Singh said that the Gangster Act should be invoked against law student's father in relation with extortion case. She said, "An application has been filed in the Court of Judicial Magistrate stating that the Gangster Act should also be invoked against the four accused persons, including the woman's father in extortion case." The girl is accused of demanding extortion money to the tune of Rs 5 crore from Chinmayanand. She was also sent to judicial custody in a case of extortion registered against her in the matter.

TV sets worth Rs 50 lakh looted by 4 armed assailants in Patna

District Food and Supplies Dept seized 'Paneer' worth Rs 10 lakh from 4 vehicles in Greater Noida

Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 22 (ANI): The festive season poses a problem for the Health Department across nation. The District Food and Supplies Department has seized four vehicles with adulterated food items in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida on October 21. Adulterated 'Paneer' worth Rs 10 lakh was seized from four vehicles. The quantity of the paneer was around 4000 kg. The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDM Dadri and District Administrator of GautamBuddha Nagar. While speaking to ANI, the Food Safety Officer Rakesh Kumar said, "There were four vehicles in which we have seized around 4000 kg of 'paneer'. The amount of 'paneer' is worth Rs 10 Lakh. The seize operation was conducted under the supervision of SDM Dadri and District Administrator of Gautambuddha Nagar." "We have taken the samples and will send it into laboratories for check-up. I am no subordinate to state govt: WB Governor lashes out after being denied permission to meet officials

Kolkata, Oct 22 (ANI): Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar tirade his guns at the state government after his meeting with state officials was cancelled citing the absence of permission from state government. Dhankhar said, "Is it an appropriate step to be taken, that when the government of that state wants to meet someone there has to be censorship? There has to be approval? There is permission from the state government? I am no subordinate to the state government." Jagdeep Dhankhar had called for a meeting on October 22 with state officials such as Member of Parliaments (MP) and District Magistrate (DM). His meeting could not be arranged without the permission of state government.

Wreath laying ceremony of soldiers killed in ceasefire violation by Pak held at Palam Airport

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): The wreath laying ceremony of security personnel Padam Bahadur Shrestha and Gamil Kumar Shrestha was performed at Palam airport on October 21. The jawans were killed after Pakistan restored to unprovoked firing along the LoC in Tangdhar sector in Jammu and Kashmir on late night of October 19. The two soldiers belonged to the Gorkha Rifles. Vice Army Chief Lt Gen MM Naravane and other top officials of the Army paid their last respects to the brave hearts. After the ceremony, the mortal remains were sent to their native places.

European experts at the subject have also participated in the workshop that aims to tackle the challenges in terms of management of water quality and quantity in river basins in India. The successful implementation of e-flows will contribute to successful river basin management. We will completely destroy terror camps in Pakistan: J-K Governor
