Chennai, Oct 21 (ANI): Ahead of Diwali, green crackers taking centre-stage with the country's fireworks hub Chennai. However, people are high on confusion as they don't have much knowledge about green crackers. It is said that Green crackers are less polluting and cheaper than the standard ones. People are also upset as there are fewer varieties in green crackers.

'Kathina Civara Dana' ceremony held in Leh

Leh, Oct 21 (ANI): 'Kathina Civara Dana', the offering ceremony to Sangha members was held at Jetavana Monastery at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) on Sunday (October 20) for many Sangha members from Thailand, who successfully completed a three-month annual retreat called 'Vassa' which is called 'Yarnas' in Tibetan/Ladakhi. Several Thai monks observed an annual three-month silent retreat (meditation) at MIMC annually since couple of years. The Thai delegation made offering of robes, food and other items of necessities along with some donation to the members of the Sangha of Mahabodhi Jetavana Monastery.

Guwahati (Assam), Oct 21 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy took part in Diwali celebration of Border Security Force (BSF) in Guwahati's Pat Gaon on October 20. Vijay Goel undertakes 'cycle yatra' against odd-even scheme and rising pollution in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI) : BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel undertook a cycle yatra in the national capital to protest against rising pollution in Delhi and protest against Delhi government's odd-even shceme. He was accompanied by Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and hundreds of party supporters. The cycle yatra started from the residence of Goel at Rajghat. Every year the pollution level in Delhi rises to extreme level due to stubble burning from the adjoining states, and various other factors.

6-10 Pak soldiers killed, 3 terror camps destroyed: Bipin Rawat on Army action in PoK

He said that 6-10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed while three terror camps have been destroyed during the attack by the Indian Army. Technology builds a bridge between aspirations and achievements; it is also a bridge between government and governance." Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled 'Bridgital Nation: Solving Technology's People Problem' in New Delhi on October 20. The book is co-authored by N Chandrasekaran and Roopa Purushothaman.

Caused severe damage to terror infrastructure in PoK: Army Chief Bipin Rawat

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on October 20 shared information on Indian Army's action in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) where four terror launch pads were struck. He said that the Army was getting information about terrorists' infiltration ahead of the Diwali. He said the Army got the information that the terrorists camps in Pir Panjal Range were active and some of the terrorists tried to infiltrate into India from Tangdhar, hence it was decided to attack on the terrorists launch pads. "We have the coordinates of where these camps have emerged, we have caused severe damage to terrorists infrastructure across and let me tell you that the terrorists' camps opposite Tangdhar and Kiral sector have been destroyed," said Rawat. Indian Army launched a military offensive as it attacked four terror launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on October 20. The terror launch pads were situated in PoK's Neelam Valley.

India's 1st triathlon race 'IRONMAN 70.3' organised in Goa's Panaji

Panaji (Goa), Oct 20 (ANI): India's first triathlon race 'IRONMAN 70.3' was held in Goa's Panaji on October 20. The event took place at Miramar beach in Panaji. Over 1000 participants including 800 Indians took part in this race. Participants from 27 countries including Singapore, France, Germany, Australia, Qatar and Japan also marked their presence in the triathlon race. While speaking to media about the event, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, "It is being organised for the first time in country. Over 27 countries are participating in it." "It is an example of sports tourism. We will promote more such events in future," Goa CM added.

Security forces capable of tackling any situation: Ram Madhav on Army action in PoK

Maharashtra polls: Mumbai group raps to spread awareness about voting

Kamlesh Tiwari murder case: Police receives input of 2 suspects in Lucknow hotel

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 20 (ANI): Lucknow Police has received inputs of about two suspects in the murder of former Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari, on October 20. The two suspects were identified as Sheikh Ashfaq Hussain and Pathan Moinuddin Ahmed who were staying at Hotel Khalsa Inn in UP's Lucknow. A saffron-coloured garment and a towel with blood stains were found in their hotel room. While speaking to ANI on the matter, the Hotel Manager Arvind Chaurasia said, "After seeing the footage on TV, we checked IDs and informed police about the same." Kamlesh Tiwari was killed after being shot at in Lucknow on October 18.
