Panchkula (Haryana), Oct 20 (ANI): Director General of Police (DGP) of Haryana Manoj Yadav informed about the security arrangements in poll-bound Haryana. He said that over 40,000 police personnel, 13,000 Para military and over 20,000 home guards and special police officers have been deployed in the state with only one mission of ensuring peaceful polls. "We have made effective, strong and comprehensive security arrangements as well as law and order arrangements to ensure free, fare and peaceful voting on 21st October. We have deployed large number of police mobile vehicle which are constantly carrying out patrolling in their assigned places," said Yadav. "Para military forces have also been deployed to 2800 vulnerable polling booths. He also said that police have covered all the 19,500 polling booths with the deployment of at least one constable and home guard," Yadav added.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 20 (ANI): After meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, wife of Kamlesh Tiwari, who was killed at his office in Lucknow after being shot at by armed assailants, demanded capital punishment for the culprits, adding that the Chief Minister has assured them full support. "He (UP CM) assured us that justice will be done. We demanded capital punishment for the murderers. He assured us that they will be punished," Kiran Tiwari told ANI. Three people were detained by Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad on October 19 in connection with the murder.
New Delhi/ Nagpur (Maharashtra), Oct 20 (ANI): Indian Army destroyed four terror launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on October 20. The terror launch pads were situated in PoK's Neelam valley. Reacting to the action taken by the Indian Army, defence experts hailed the brave soldiers in one voice. Defence expert PK Sehgal said, "Everyday Pakistan has been doing ceasefire on daily basis, yesterday also Pakistan tried ceasefire in Tangdhar, and it tried to infiltrate infiltrators by doing unprovoked firing in which two civilians and soldiers lost their lives. Today the whole world is with us, whenever Pakistan does this kind of incidents, we should take actions like Israel so that Pak think 10 times before attacking on us," said Sehgal. Another defence expert Shivali Deshpande said, "This is a very good action being taken, we should stick to the strategy, we need to be offensive."

Politicos also hailed the action in one voice. Congress leader KTS Tulsi said, "This is a good step because now the roots which are taken by them for infiltrating into India are well known." BJP Delhi president Manoj Tiwari said, "The action taken by the Indian Army should be continued." Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja said, "This is a retaliation on Pakistan. Pakistan is encouraging terror groups and violating ceasefire agreement but both countries should understand the serious situation that is there on the border."
Jammu, Oct 20 (ANI): Indian Army has launched attacks on terrorist camps situated inside PoK opposite Tangdhar Sector. Speaking on this BJP leader Ravinder Raina said, "Many civilians are killed by Pakistan. Pakistan is targeting common people. They are constantly trying to infiltrate terrorists. So, that the situation of Kashmir can be disturbed. Pakistan is trying to attack on India. Indian Army has destroyed the camps of the terrorists and many terrorists were killed. This is a great attempt by the Indian Security force."
Mumbai, Oct 20 (ANI): Polling parties left for their respective polling booths, ahead of Maharashtra Assembly polls. Security has also been beefed up in the state. The campaign for assembly polls in Maharashtra ended on October 19 with political leaders criss-crossing to woo voters and boost poll prospects of their parties. The assembly polls in Maharashtra will take place on October 21 and results of the same will be declared on October 24.

Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 20 (ANI): Despite Punjab government's ban, stubble burning continued in Punjab's Amritsar on October 20 due to lack of alternatives. Over 90 cases of stubble burning have been reported so far. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that stubble burning in neighbouring states is one of the main causes of air pollution in the national capital. Meanwhile, air quality remained poor for several consecutive days in the national capital and the NCR region.

Ceasefire violations by Pakistan have increased in the last few months in the wake of tension between Ind and Pak. New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): While trauma in itself can pose risk to a child's healthy development, overthinking on such events makes the kid more prone to suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), says a recent study.If they think their reaction to traumatic events is not normal, they become more likely to develop PTSD, the study published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, has found. Children begin down this route when they have trouble processing their trauma and perceive their symptoms as being a sign that something is seriously wrong. While most children recover well after a traumatic event, some go on to develop PTSD that may stay with them for months, years, or even into adulthood. Researchers worked with over 200 children aged between eight and 17 who had attended a hospital emergency department following a one-off traumatic incident. These included events such as car crashes, assaults, dog attacks, and other medical emergencies.
Meerut (UP), Oct 20 (ANI): A wanted criminal, carrying a reward of Rupees 75, 000 bounty was shot dead in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police. "Sanjeev was involved in 2 murder cases. He came here to kill the witness," said Meerut's SSP Ajay Sahani. The incident took place on October 19 late evening.

Kannauj (UP), Oct 20 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police detained 4 men who are from Jammu and Kashmir for questioning. However, they claimed themselves office bearers of a mosque. "Four Kashmiris have been detained, they claim that they are from Poonch district and that they were here to collect funds for a Madarsa. They are being interrogated. Intelligence agencies are investigating the matter further as to what was their purpose," said Kannauj's ASP Vinod Kumar.
Cuttack (Odisha), Oct 20 (ANI): Odisha Police arrested 12 people for manufacturing illegal firecrackers in Cuttack's Jagatpur. Police also busted eight illegal firecracker manufacturing units in the area. "Overall 8 teams were formed to conduct raids. During the raids, eight houses were detected where this illegal manufacturing was going on," Cuttack's Deputy Commissioner of Police Akhileshwar Singh said. However, further investigation is underway to ascertain from where the raw material was being supplied to these illegal units

Agartala (Tripura), Oct 20 (ANI): Buddhists congregated in the Saddamma Bana Vihar monastery at Chanmari area on the outskirts of Agartala to participate in the 'Kathin Chibor Dan' festival. Kathin Chibor Dan - the literal meaning of which is "offering of difficult monk robe" is an annual religious festival during which Buddhist donates different items for the living of the monks including their robe made out of the cloth weaved in their own looms. Devotees donate robes to the monks which are made of cotton and weaved by devotees overnight and consider it as the biggest symbol of sacrifice, through which one can achieve salvation. On this day, devotees pray for the peace and prosperity throughout the globe. It is one of the main religious festivals of Buddhist community.
