Mumbai, Oct 17 (ANI): Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke on BJP's promise to give Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar, in their election manifesto and stated that Congress is not against Veer Savarkar but Hindutva ideology that he patronised for. "We are not against Savarkar ji but the question is, we're not in favour of the Hindutva ideology that Savarkar ji patronised and stood for," said Manmohan Singh, while addressing a press conference in Mumbai. Meerut (UP), Oct 17 (ANI): Meerut Police on Wednesday seized illegally stored firecrackers worth Rs 50 lakh from Datavali village and arrested five people. While speaking to media persons, a police official said, "Based on the information, a raid was conducted in Datavali village of Bhavanpur police station area. Police have recovered firecrackers worth Rs 50 lakh from a godown and arrested five people for the same." Further investigation in the matter is underway.
