Patna (Bihar), Oct 09 (ANI): Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on October 9 visited a government hospital in Patna to take stock of the health services after flood water receded in the city. He inspected the facilities provided by the hospital authorities and also talked to the patients. While speaking to the mediapersons he said, "I'm here to take stock of health services after flood water receded. There were 119 cases of dengue in hospital, of which 16 are still there. Centre and state are working together to control outbreak of diseases."As the floodwater drained out, the concern of spreading of dengue and other diseases is haunting the state. Authorities are taking measures like spraying of bleaching powder and anti- larval materials to stop the viral diseases. Over 73 people lost their lives after heavy rain in Bihar.

The guide starts by reciting classical hymn and then goes on to perfectly imitate the neck and eye brow movements of the dance forms. Then he showed some body movements and mudras of the form. Mangaluru (Karnataka), Oct 09 (ANI): Mangaluru Dasara ended on a colourful note on the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi. A lively procession of Goddess Sharada Devi was taken out on the occasion. Mesmerizing tableaux followed Devi's chariot. The procession started from Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple. Thousands of devotees gathered to participate in the festival with great fervour. The streets of Mangaluru were illuminated for the celebrations. While speaking to ANI, one of the organizers said, "14 Goddesses along with 60+ tableaux moved in the procession and the entire 7 km route was illuminated with the lighting. Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 09 (ANI): Marking an end to Dussehra celebrations, idols of Goddess Kanakadurga and Lord Malleswara were taken on the boat in river Krishna here in the evening. Thousands of devotees gathered on the banks of river Krishna to take a glimpse of the God and Goddess. The boat was decorated with colorful lights. Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Oct 08 (ANI): With a thought to save environment from getting polluted on Vijaya Dashami, people came up with a unique idea. They celebrated the festival by putting up a 40-feet Ravana poster instead of an effigy. The poster was put up at Nayapalli area of Odisha's Bhubaneswar. A man later climbed up and tore it instead of burning it. Traditionally, Ravana effigy is burnt to mark the victory of good over evil on the occasion.
