Two arrested for thrashing couple at Alwar bus stop in Rajasthan

Alwar (Rajasthan), Oct 07 (ANI): Two men have been arrested for allegedly thrashing a Muslim couple at the Alwar bus stop. "The couple was waiting for their bus when the two men attacked them on Saturday night around 11:30 pm. One of the two also misbehaved with the woman, showing inappropriate gestures to her. The couple complained to us and we have arrested them," a police official told ANI on Sunday. The two accused have been identified as Surinder Mohan Bhatia (33) and Vansh Bhardwaj (23) - both resident of Alwar. An FIR has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway.

Don't burst crackers this Diwali, advises Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar advised people to not burst fire crackers this Diwali. "I will advise that don't burst fire crackers, and I am confident that children themselves will ask parents to not buy firecrackers, but if someone wants to then buy green fire crackers," said the Environment Minister. The Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has developed green crackers, which are new and improved formulations of the previous sound-emitting crackers and other fireworks. The development of green crackers is aimed at reducing pollution and health risks.

"BS6-compliant vehicles will be coming in Delhi in April 2020. BS6 petrol/diesel is already available in Delhi/NCR. It will lead to great reduction in air pollution from vehicles," said Minister Javadekar. "This will cost government 60,000 crore rupees," he aded.

Brother of RJD leader shot dead in Nalanda

Aarey Protest: SC asked to maintain status quo till next hearing, says petitioner's lawyer

SC asks Maharashtra Government to not cut more trees at Aarey colony

Mumbai, Oct 07 (ANI): Special Supreme Court bench on October 7 asked Maharashtra Government to not cut more trees at Aarey colony. The bench began hearing in Mumbai on Aarey Forest tree felling case, meanwhile, Security was beefed up in Aarey colony. 29 protesters were released from Thane jail after bail was granted to them yesterday. They were arrested from Aarey on charges of disturbing public order and obstructing government officials from performing their duties. The felling began Friday night, hours after the Bombay High Court dismissed four petitions challenging the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) permission to cut 2,646 trees on 33 hectares of land at Aarey for the construction of a Metro Line 3 rake depot.

5 killed in attack on local BJP leader, his family in Maharashtra's Jalgaon

Jalgaon (Maharashtra), Oct 07 (ANI): Five persons were killed after some unidentified persons opened fire at a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and his family members in Jalgaon district's Bhusawal city in Maharashtra on October 06. While speaking to media, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bhusawal Panjabrao Ugale said, "Some unidentified persons killed BJP leader Ravindra Kharat, his brother Sunil Kharat, sons Rohit and Prem Sagar and a friend Sumit Fedre outside their residence in Bhusawal." The incident took place around 9:30 pm, in which two persons were killed on the spot while three died while being taken to a hospital. According to the police, the assailants used guns and knives in the attack and then fled the spot. "Prima facia it looks like a case of a personal dispute. We have detained three persons in the matter. The accused have also sustained some injuries and are being treated at a hospital," SP Ugale added. Police are further investigating the matter.

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): In a study to identify types of indoor air contaminants, researchers found that people and ventilation systems greatly impact the chemistry of indoor air at workplaces. A team of engineers at Purdue University has been conducting one of the largest studies of its kind in the office spaces of a building rigged with thousands of sensors. The goal is to identify all types of indoor air contaminants and recommend ways to control them through how a building is designed and operated.
