Google starts testing Assistant in Chrome for ticket booking

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Google has reportedly started testing a new feature for Chrome that leverages its Assistant-based automation engine, Duplex. As 9to5 Google reports, the company appears to be rolling out the voice-based reservation system for movie ticket booking in Chrome. The Duplex option will be available when you are looking for showtimes. Supported screens will show the Google Assistant prompt to 'Buy tickets' for a quick ticket booking.

9 prisoners walk free from Aligarh jail on Gandhi Jayanti

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 03 (ANI): Nine prisoners were released from the district jail in Aligarh on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. These nine prisoners had completed their jail term but could not get out as they failed to pay the cash fine imposed on them. "Radha Rani Vrindavan Trust has paid their fine. Their total fine was Rs 34,500. They were not involved in serious crimes," a police official told media. The prisoners were released after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the release of 150 prisoners from prisons across the state, who have completed their sentence but cannot be released due to the non-payment of monetary penalty. As per the Chief Minister's order, inmates lodged in district jails of Ghaziabad, Rampur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bijnor, Aligarh, Bahraich, Khiri, Kanpur, Gautam Budh Nagar, Sultanpur, Meerut, Agra, Muzaffarnagar, Mirzapur, Baghpat, Maharajganj, Hardoi, Moradabad, Bareilly, Raebareli, etc., were released.

Chandigarh youth recycle used earthen lamps to collect money for education of needy children

Chandigarh, Oct 03 (ANI): A youth welfare association from Chandigarh has started a unique recycling project. In this project, they recycle used earthen lamps by collecting them a day after Diwali. They clean and paint these earthen lamps before selling them in markets. The association invests the earned money for education of needy children. This Durga idol in Kolkata is made of around 50 kg gold

People in Kolkata are celebrating one of their most glamorous and biggest festivals with full fervor. A goddess Durga idol has been made of around 50 kg gold. Around 250 workers, who worked in day and night, completed Durga idol of gold in 3 months. This is not the first time that the puja organisers have resorted to such an ostentatious display of jewellery. In 2017, they had draped goddess Durga in a gold saree. Last year, she was astride a silver chariot. While speaking to ANI, a puja community member said, "We just wanted to show the world and the country that machine can't make the idol of gold, only man can do it."

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): While deafness in early childhood leaves permanent changes in how sounds are processed in the brain, researchers found that even mild-to-moderate hearing loss have a similar impact. Researchers say that the findings may have implications for how babies are screened for hearing loss and how mild-to-moderate hearing loss in children is managed by healthcare providers. The structure and function of the auditory system, which processes sounds in the brain, develops throughout childhood in response to exposure to sounds. In profoundly deaf children, the auditory system undergoes a functional reorganisation, repurposing itself to respond more to visual stimuli, for example. However, the brain responses of older children with hearing loss were smaller than those of their normally hearing peers.
