Sports federations should have transparency: Kiren Rijiju on implementing RTI in BCCI

New Delhi, Sep 30 (ANI): Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports with independent charge, Kiren Rijiju reacted on the ongoing speculations that BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) will come under RTI (Right to Information Act, 2005). Rijiju said, "There should be transparency in every sports organization and federation." On being asked whether RTI would be the next step for BCCI after the sports body came under National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) ambit. He said, "Whatever public money we have or whatever fund we organise or arrange needs to be managed in proper manner." He also talked about adoption of SAI centers saying, "Sports centers can be taken over by security forces (BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifles, ITBP). The security forces, they have some discipline in their culture, so they can create better sports culture there. My only objective is to increase the sports facilities, sports culture and performance," Rijiju further added.

Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria pays tribute at National War Memorial post taking charge as IAF Chief

Bihar flood: Disaster Management asks for high-power intensity pumping machines from Coal India

Patna (Bihar), Sep 30 (ANI): Heavy rainfall led to flood-like situation in Patna. According to Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, at least 29 people have died due to rainfall. Principal Secretary Disaster Management of Bihar, Pratyaya Amrit gave deets on the measure for controlling flood. He said, "We're working to fulfill demand of drinking water in flood-affected areas. We're trying to restore power supply in affected areas. Also, we've asked for 2 high-power intensity pumping machines from Coal India to pump out flood water." Bihar government also has asked Indian Air Force for two helicopters for lifting and airdropping food packets and medicines in the flood-affected areas of Patna.

He safeguard the girl while she was about to drown in the manhole chamber. The lid of the manhole chamber was open in the area while this incident occurred. For more than a week, the lid of manhole chamber is open and locals are complaining about it to the administration. While speaking to ANI, one of the local said, "This is hometown of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot but the situation over here is worst." "So, we request to the local administration that the pending work should be done as soon as possible so that no such incident will get repeated in the future," he added.

Ready to face any challenge: Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria on Pak PM's nuclear war threat

Mt Hanuman Tibba near Manali receives fresh snowfall

9-day long car festival of Goddess Biraja commences in Odisha's Jajpur
