Government needs to think out of the box to help industries: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), September 16 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently chaired the review meeting of the Department of Industries at the Chief Minister's Office. In the meeting CM said that special incentives should be given to the entrepreneurs for investment and employment in the most backward regions of the state and in those districts where there are no industries so that industries can flourish in these areas.The Chief Minister laid emphasis on promoting industries in industrially backward districts and creating employmnt for the youth. He said that investment possibilities should be explored in those districts and if an entrepreneur wants to set up his enterprise there, he should be encouraged by giving special exemption from the state government.The Chief Minister said that the single window system should be made stronger and effective so that all the necessary approvals can be given to the investors coming for the establishment of the industry at a rapid pace.CM

Srinagar, Sep 16 (ANI): The hybrid seed varieties boost vegetable cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar. The vegetable growers are getting lots of benefits in Valley. Use of hybrid seeds has resulted in better quality and quantity of vegetables. Instead of traditional seeds people now are proffering hybrid seeds in their vegetable nurseries and gardens. Few years back, hybrid seed varieties were introduced by the experts of agricultural department on experimental basis which aimed to make the revolution in vegetable cultivation. Cultivators are availing the benefits in J-K.

Work on Indian side of Kartarpur corridor will be completed within given time frame: MHA

Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 16 (ANI): Additional Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govind Mohan inspected the Kartarpur Corridor site in Gurdaspur district on September 16 and said that Indian side of Kartarpur corridor will be completed within given time frame. Speaking to mediapersons, Govind Mohan said, "There are 3 works that are part of Indian side of the Kartarpur corridor. An extra highway of 3.5 km is being made from the Gurdaspur-Batala highway till the border point, 70% of it is done, it'll be completed by October 31. The second work is a Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) whose work is underway. In this building, there will be immigration and other facilities for the Sikh devotees who will go towards Kartarpur."

Language connects people: CM Gehlot on World Hindi Day

Jaipur (Rajasthan), September 16 (ANI): During celebrations at the Golden Jubilee of Rajasthan Hindi Granth Academy on the occasion of World Hindi Day in Jaipur, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that language serves to connect people. There are many languages and dialects in our country, but still our country is united. We should be proud of our language, he added.While congratulating the litterateurs and writers associated with the Hindi Granth Academy on completion of 50 years of its establishment, CM Gehlot said that the Academy has done commendable work in promoting Hindi and providing quality books to students. He hoped that the academy would work with the same spirit in future and the government would cooperate fully in it.During the program, the Chief Minister honoured three writers associated with the academy with Pragya Award and honoured seven authors for their special contribution .CM Gehlot also released a souvenir of the Hindi Granth Academy at the ceremony.

Ex-inmate of Muzaffarpur Shelter Home allegedly gangraped by 4 men in Bihar's Bettiah

Bettiah (Bihar), Sep 16 (ANI): A woman, who had been an inmate of the infamous Muzaffarpur shelter home case, was allegedly raped by four men in a moving vehicle in Bihar's West Champaran district on September 15. The incident took place in Bettiah town of West Champaran district. After raping the woman in a moving vehicle, the four men dumped her. While speaking to ANI on the alleged rape of former Muzaffarpur shelter home inmate in Bettiah, Superintendent of Police (SP) OF Bettiah, Jayant Kant said, "FIR has been filed against four persons. The investigation done so far is limited to this case only." "The victim has been sent for a medical test," he added. In 2018, the Muzaffarpur shelter home had hit the headlines after a social audit report highlighted that over 30 girls were allegedly raped at the government-aided shelter home, run by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

Will present my report before SC: Ghulam Nabi Azad after top court allows him to travel to J-K

New Delhi, Sep 16 (ANI): Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday thanked Supreme Court for permitting him to travel to Jammu and Kashmir. He said, "I am thankful to Supreme Court for permitting me to travel to Jammu - Kashmir. I'll present my report before the Supreme Court. I am happy that no less than CJI has shown his concern and he has held that he should visit J-K and see how things are moving." It comes after SC allowed Ghulam Nabi to visit Jammu, Anantnag, Baramulla and Srinagar districts in the state with riders. Mr. Azad is free to interact with people, but cannot hold any political rallies during his visit to the state.

Godavari boat capsize: CM Jagan Mohan Reddy conducts aerial survey

Onboard, Sep 16 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted aerial survey in state's East Godavari district on September 16. He conducted this survey after a boat capsized in the area on September 15. In this major tragedy, 11 people died when a tourist boat carrying 61 persons onboard capsized in the Godavari River near Devipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Reddy has announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia for kin of deceased. Navy UH 3H helicopter took off from Rajmundary airport at 07:30 hours on September 16, carried out multiple searches from accident site at Devipatnam to Pollavaram. No survivors or bodies or debris of boat were sighted. Chetak helicopter is now conducting search in this regard.

President Kovind arrives in Slovenia on two-day visit

Slovenia, Sep 16 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Slovenia on September 16. He will hold bilateral talks with his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor in the capital Ljubljana today. This is the first ever visit by any Indian President to Slovenia after it gained Independence in 1991. President Kovind is on a three-nation visit to Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia.

New Delhi, Sep 16 (ANI): Reacting to Minister of State (MoS) for Labour, Santosh Gangwar's statement that there were ample jobs in country for which enough skilled workers were absent, Congress party's national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh said this was not an unexpected remark, and was in line with such responses by many others including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal. Vallabh added that the demonetisation and GST bullets shot the economy in its chest, and pressed on his party's demand from the government to bring a white paper on the state of economy.

Surat professor develops model which translates Hindi, English, Gujarati into Braille for visually impaired

Surat (Gujarat), Sep 16 (ANI): Nikisha Jariwala, a professor in Surat has made first of a kind model for the visually impaired, which will convert Hindi, English and Gujarati text into Braille language. Not only texts, model will also convert drawings, mathematical equations and text to speech as well. This invention has helped her bag Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award. While speaking on this development Nikisha Jariwala, said, "My PHD topic was Design and Development of the model to transliterate digitalised multi lingual text into Braille and speech - An aid for visually impaired people with the help of this model, the visually impaired will be able to easily communicate with everyone and pursue normal education. Not only texts, the model will also convert drawings and mathematical equations, and text to speech as well."

8 people rescued from lift after being stranded for hours

Patna (Bihar), Sep 16 (ANI): As many as eight people got stuck in the lift for two hours at a hotel in Bihar's capital Patna. The incident took place during a party at the hotel. The occupants of the lift were rescued after breaking the glass. Women, elderly and children were among the rescued. Police assured of appropriate action into the case.

Article 370 history now, normalcy will return soon in JandK: Ram Madhav

Guwahati (Assam), Sep 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Ram Madhav reacted on Jammu and Kashmir's current situation. Showing optimism, he said that countrymen will see normalcy soon returning to Jammu and Kashmir. He further asserted that development will reach to the people of the valley and other issues will be taken up at appropriate time. "Article 370 is history now in Jammu and Kashmir, very soon we will see normalcy returning to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Things will normalize. Fruits of development will reach people. All other issues will be taken up at appropriate time," said Madhav. Jammu and Kashmir is under the surveillance of heavy security force after Modi government abrogated Article 370, which provided special status to the state. The resolution was presented by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Parliament.

New Motor Vehicle Act: Jharkhand govt gives 3 months relief to people

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Sep 16 (ANI): Jharkhand is going to give some relief to the commuters of the state as the state government has decided to give three months relief to the people so that they can get their respective documents in order. Transport Minister CP Singh informed about the decision, "Taking cognisance of people's safety, some amendments were made in Motor Vehicle Act by Centre. However, taking note of issues people are facing, we've decided to give 3 month relief to people so that they can get their documents in order, spread awareness among people. Public should also make sure that they abide by all the traffic rules and regulations," said Singh. The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019 went into effect earlier this month.
