Schools, junior colleges will remain closed in Mumbai on September 05. Wadala Station was also submerged after Maharashtra received heavy rainfall.

Strict action should be taken against those who don't obey the CM: MP Congress leader

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 05 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA, Adal Singh Kansana said that action will be taken against state ministers who are making comments about party leadership. He said, "Some of the state ministers are making comments and several of our MLAs are saddened by it. I have talked to around 40 MLAs, these MLAs do not belong to a single group, there are different groups in all parties." He further added, "Be it a minister from Kamal Nath ji's group, Digvijaya ji's group, Scindia ji's group or someone else's, stringent action should be taken against those who don't obey the CM and make comments that are different from the party line."

Gmail now lets you block auto-download of images on iPhone

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): In its latest update for iOS, Gmail now allows users to block images from displaying automatically. As described on the Apple App Store, with the version 6.0.190811 Gmail for iOS, users can choose to be asked before external images are displayed automatically. To enable the setting for new incoming messages, head to Settings > choose the account > Images and select Ask before displaying external images. The feature is helpful when you are on a weaker connection.

16 dead after fire breaks out at cracker factory in Punjab's Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 04 (ANI): At least 16 people died and another 10 people were injured after a fire broke out at a cracker factory in Punjab's Gurdaspur, according to Deepak Bhatia, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gurdaspur. Soon after the blaze at the fire cracker factory, several fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

Agreement on Kartarpur fell short of finalization because of Pakistan's inflexibility: MHA Joint Secy

Attari-Wagah Border Sep 04 (ANI): The Pakistani team returned to their side after India-Pakistan's third meeting regarding Kartarpur corridor, held at Attari-Wagah Border on September 04. Talking to media, S C L Das, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs on India-Pak's 3rd meeting on Kartarpur corridor said, "Owing to certain differences on a few issues, the agreement couldn't be finalised. Pakistan has insisted on charging a service fee for allowing pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, which is not agreeable in spirit." He added, "Pakistan has also shown its unwillingness to allow the presence of Indian Consular or Protocol officials at the Gurdwara premises. Pakistan side was urged to reconsider its position."

'Kashmir is a volcano which is waiting to explode': Congress

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): Indian National Congress (INC) spokesperson Manish Tewari took a potshot at NDA government over the current situation of Jammu and Kashmir situation after abrogation of article 370 in the state. He said that there has been a complete shutdown in the valley and it is in an undeclared emergency where civic right of the people is seized to exist. He defined Kashmir situation as a volcano which is waiting to explode "For the last one month there has been a complete shutdown in Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir is in undeclared emergency where civil rights have seized to exist. Kashmir is a volcano which is waiting to explode," said Tewari. "Coercion, intimidation, retention has no other policy as to how to deal with this manmade disaster which they have created," he added. The resolution was moved and passed first in the Rajya Sabha on August 05. Union Home Minister Amit Shah proposed the resolution in the house. Article 370 of the Indian Constitution gave special status

BJP MP claims Chinese incursion in Arunachal

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): After purported video of log wooden bridge being constructed by Chinese Army near Chaglagam area in Arunachal Pradeshm, BJP MP Tapir Gao said that If China makes a bridge at a distance of 25 km from Chaglagam that implies China is already 60-70 km into our territory. "McMahon line is at a distance of approximately 100 km from Chaglagam, now if China makes a bridge at a distance of 25 km from Chaglagam that implies China is already 60-70 km into our territory. I do not blame Army or those who are patrolling the area; there are no roads how they can possibly access the area. I'm confident of the government. I want government to look into it, I will also look into this. Roads need to be built."

Youth Congress stages protest over DK Shivakumar's arrest

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): Congress youth wing on September 4 held a massive protest in the national capital's Raisina Road. The protest turned violent after police intervention. The Youth Congress protested over the arrest of DK Shivakumar on September 3 by the Enforcement Directorate. ED arrested Shivakumar after four days of questioning over money-laundering allegations. Protest broke out in several parts of Karnataka following the arrest. The main opposition party, Congress has termed Shivakumar's arrest as vendetta politics and accused the BJP of using the ED to intimidate the Opposition. Later, the protestors were detained by the police.

Chandrayaan-2: Soft landing to be next milestone after successful de-orbiting maneuver, says scientist Annadurai

Director of Chandrayaan-1, Mylswamy Annadurai spoke to mediapersons on the accomplishment and said, "Chandrayaan -1 has discovered water on the moon and considering that there is a big campaign going on internationally as we are back to the moon that is nearly after 50 years. 96 days of tyranny, chaos and anarchy: Congress slams NDA's 2nd term

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): The Congress on September 04 slammed the NDA government's second term. Indian National Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari termed NDA government's second term as 96 days of tyranny, chaos and anarchy. Tewari lambasted the NDA government by raising the issue of economic slowdown. He also called the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) a monumental failure and said that over the period of 33 months, new jobs accounted for only 10 percent of the total number of loans given under the scheme. PMMY is a scheme launched by the PM Modi on April 8, 2015 for providing loans up to 10 lakh to the non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises.

Don't panic on falling Rupee, says market expert Sunil Shah

Mumbai, Sep 04 (ANI): Market expert Sunil Shah on September 4 shared his views on Rupee logging its biggest single-day fall in 2019 against the United States Dollars. While expressing his views on economic slowdown, he said that Indian market combines both premium as well as emerging markets and if the country's economy is slowing down the country cannot attract more foreign capital till the growth returns back. "We are going through a difficult time but that doesn't mean that things will not improve. Indian problem is cyclical it not much of a structural problem. Once the cycle improves and turns, we will see the better days," said Shah. The domestic currency on September 3 opened lower by 55 paise at 71.95 per dollar versus August 30 close of 71.40. The Indian currency extended its fall in late afternoon session declining 100 paise to 72.40 per dollar. Later in the day, Indian Rupee closed 99 paise lower at 72.39 to the dollar.

BJP, under Modi, got 31% in '14, 37% in '19. Many of these are people who used to vote for us, they've gone to BJP. When you don't understand why they left, how can you bring them back? I said let's figure out. I'm not praising Mr Modi, I'm saying let's understand what attracted these votes. We must acknowledge what's been done right, point out mistakes and failings and then do better ourselves."

Male (Maldives), Sep 04 (ANI): Bhutan's Foreign Minister Tandi Dorji on Sep 04 said the abrogation of Article 370 was India's "internal matter", adding that there should be peace at borders, and any discussions should be done through mutual dialogue. "For us, this is an entirely internal matter of the Government of India. Also would like to say that there should be peace and tranquility at borders and any discussion should be done through mutual dialogue," Dorji told ANI. Asked about SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Summit being stalled, Dorji said it is unfortunate that the summit has been delayed but there are many other activities which were happening under SAARC umbrella.

Parts of Mumbai submerged due to incessant rains

Mumbai, Sep 04 (ANI): Heavy rains led to water-logging in several parts of Mumbai on September 04. Streets were seen flooded in Nala Sopara post heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall also led to water logging at Western Express Highway, which also halted traffic movement. Meanwhile, normal life was also affected due to heavy downpour in Navi Mumbai as well as the streets are filled with water.
