Teachers of Uttarakhand University on strike over implementation of 7th Pay Commission

Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand), Sep 03 (ANI): Around 500 teachers of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar are on a strike since July. They are on strike over the demand of implementation of 7th Pay Commission and job regularisation among other demands. Pantnagar University Teachers Association (PUTA) staged the protest to represent teachers. The strike affected new academic session.

Massive fire breaks out at ONGC plant in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra), Sep 03 (ANI): A massive fire broke out at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plant in Uran, Navi Mumbai. ONGC fire services and crisis management team immediately pressed into action. Confirming the incident ONGC tweeted,"Fire broke out in storm water drainage in Uran Plant early morning successfully doused within two hours by fire fighting team." Fire tenders have reached the spot. No injuries have been reported so far. Further investigation is underway. More details are awaited.

2 die after wall of under-construction building collapses in AP's Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 03 (ANI): At least two people died while one other injured after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed in Visakhapatnam. Injured was admitted to the hospital. Local police and fire department rushed to the spot after the incident was reported. Police is further investigating the case.

New Delhi, Sep 03 (ANI): Exercise can help prevent relapses into cocaine addiction, claims a study. Individuals who are addicted to cocaine have altered neural, behavioural and physiological responses to stress. In addition, exercise has been shown to reduce stress hormones and elevate mood, which could assist in alleviating anxiety and negative emotions associated with withdrawal," reported the study published in the journal Behavioural Brain Research. Studies already have shown that aerobic exercise (also known as "cardio") is an effective strategy against many physical health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis, along with certain mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety, and depression.

Amazon found selling unlicensed network boosters

New Delhi, Sep 03 (ANI): Amazon is reportedly selling unlicensed network boosters on its e-commerce platform, Wired has learned. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) began regulating the devices five years ago over concerns about them being misconfigured or poorly manufactured, hampering the coverage altogether, the report notes. However, Amazon is selling cheaper, unauthorised consumer signal boosters which are not FCC compliant, with some models listed as promoted with 'Amazon's Choice' badge. After the publication reached out to Amazon, some of the listings have been removed.

2 dead as dumper truck runs over auto, pedestrians near India Gate

New Delhi, Sep 03 (ANI): Two people lost their lives while two others were injured when the driver of a dumper truck lost control and ran over auto and pedestrians near India Gate on Man Singh Road in the wee hours of Tuesday. The dumper first hit the driver and then went on crushing into the autos and pedestrians standing near the footpath. Police have arrested the driver of the heavy vehicle. He said, "Some people are saying the economy is facing a slowdown, it's true that there has been a decline in the automobile sector. Kalaburgi (Karnataka), Sep 02 (ANI): Located in the Kalaburgi district of Karnataka, the dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz is one of the most revered Sufi shrines in the country. Said to be a famous Sufi saint of the Chisti order, Gaisu Daraz was the disciple of the noted Sufi saint of Delhi, Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi, after whose death he took over the mantle of the successor. Born in Delhi in 1321, he shifted to Maharashtra along with his family at the age of four and in 1397; he went to Kalaburgi at the invitation of Sultan Taj-ud din Firuz Shah. There he spread Sufism and advocated understanding, tolerance and harmony among various religious groups, making him respected by one and all. Thronged by the people across religious faiths, the dargah of Gaisu Daraz is a wonderful example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture.
