Jain said, "There's no harm in wearing a mask inside the car also. Citizens should make it a rule to wear a mask whenever they step outside their home." He further said, "Contact tracing is already underway at a large scale. House-to-house survey will be conducted in containment zones from today to check on symptomatic patients. Government rates will be charged for 60% COVID-19 beds reserved by Delhi government in private hospitals."

Watch: Malabar war games of four friendly navies that could upset China

The Indian Navy's Vikramaditya carrier battle group, the Nimitz strike group of the US Navy and several frontline warships from the Australian and Japanese navies are carrying out a four-day high-intensity war game in the Northern Arabian Sea as part of the second phase of the Malabar exercise. This exercise involves coordinated operations of increasing complexity among the navies of the four countries which are part of the Quad or Quadrilateral Coalition. The first phase of the Malabar exercise took place in the Bay of Bengal from November 3 to 6 and featured a number of complex drills including anti-submarine and anti-air warfare operations. The mega exercise is taking place at a time India and China are locked in an over six-month-long bitter border standoff in eastern Ladakh that has majorly strained the ties between the two countries.

Nagrota encounter: 4 terrorists killed, police constable injured

Nagrota (J-K), Nov 19 (ANI): At least four terrorists have been gunned down and one police constable sustained injuries in the encounter at Ban Toll Plaza in Jammu. The encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces on the morning of November 19. The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was shut in view of the encounter. Nepal Communist Party meeting deferred for 10 days

Kathmandu (Nepal), Nov 19 (ANI): The crucial meeting of the Central Secretariat of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) on November 18 ended in a stalemate. During the meeting, Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli demanded 10 days time to present a separate political document. PM Oli wanted to present a separate political document in response to his rival Pushpa Kamal Dahal's accusations that he was running the government without consulting the party. Oli told the members that he will present a separate political document in the next meeting for which he had sought 10 days time for the preparation. The next meeting of the Secretariat has been rescheduled for November 28.

BJP observes 12-hour 'bandh' over killing of party worker in WB's Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar (West Bengal), Nov 19 (ANI): West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a 12-hour 'bandh' in Cooch Behar on November 19 after a party worker was allegedly beaten to death. The 'Bandh' is being observed to protest against the killing. A protester said, "Our workers are constantly being killed by TMC but police is not doing anything. COVID-19: 45,576 new cases in India, total infections nearing 90 lakh

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): India's COVID-19 tally crossed 89.58 lakh mark on November 19. A significant rise in new COVID cases was observed as spike of 45,576 new cases and 585 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. Currently, there are 4,43,303 active cases of coronavirus in the country whereas, total cured cases are 83,83,603 with 48,493 new discharges in the last 24 hours. As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 10.28 lakh samples were tested for coronavirus on Nov 18.

Indian Army felicitates corona warriors in J and K's Poonch

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): A study led by the Cedars-Sinai Department of Neurosurgery has identified certain regions in the retina - the lining found in the back of the eye - that are more affected by Alzheimer's disease than other areas. The findings may help physicians predict changes in the brain as well as cognitive deterioration, even for patients experiencing the earliest signs of mild impairment. "These clues can occur very early on in the progression of Alzheimer's disease - several decades before symptoms appear," said Maya Koronyo-Hamaoui, Ph.D., associate professor of Neurosurgery and Biomedical Sciences and co-corresponding author of the study. Facebook rolls out new messaging features on Messenger, Instagram

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Facebook on Wednesday rolled out three new features for messenger and photo and video sharing platform Instagram. The first feature is 'Watch Together' in which users can tune into IGTV, Reels, TV shows, movies, and trending videos in real-time over video chat. In the second feature, the users will be able to activate the TinyTAN chat theme on Instagram and Messenger and express their affection with love emojis. The third feature, 'vanish mode', is coming soon and is an opt-in feature that makes seen messages disappear after you leave a chat thread. To turn it on, just swipe up in an existing chat thread - and you're in vanish mode. Swipe up again and you're back to your regular chat. "We're also bringing two new shows, "Post Malone's Celebrity World Pong League" and "Here for It With Avani Gregg," exclusively to Messenger and Instagram through Watch Together," Facebook said in an official statement.
