Bhagalpur (Bihar), Oct 23 (ANI): While speaking at a public rally in Bihar's Bhagalpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the opposition of misleading the farmers on minimum support price and highlighted the NDA government's initiative towards benefiting farmers. PM Modi said, "It is the NDA government which implemented the recommendation to give MSP to farmers at one and a half times the cost. It is the NDA government that has laid great emphasis on both government procurement centres and government procurement." He further questioned, "They do not have the answer till date when they were in government then why did not they decide on MSP? Why so little grain was purchased from farmers in these times? Why these people did not care about farmers, farmers of Bihar."
Srinagar (J-K), Oct 23 (ANI): J-K Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti claimed that "China captured 1000 sq km of India". Mehbooba Mufti said, "They've nothing to show to ask for votes. They say you can buy land in J-K, we've abrogated Article 370. Then they said they will give free vaccines. Today PM Modi had to speak of Article 370 for votes. This govt has failed to solve the issues of this nation." Mufti further said that J-K came into international view like never before after abrogation. "It's a fact that China captured 1000 sq km of our land. I think we somehow managed to get back around 40 km. China speaks of Article 370 too. They say it's disputed and ask why was J-K made UT? J-K came into international view like never before after abrogation," said PDP president.

Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 23 (ANI): Kisan union, Azad Kisan Sangharsh Committee members held a protest near Amritsar toll plaza on October 23. They have stopped around 30 paddy trucks coming from Uttar Pradesh. Protesters are opposing the selling of these paddy trucks coming from Uttar Pradesh in Punjab. They claimed that these are not trucks of farmers but businessmen. Kisan leader, Harjeet Singh said, "This is robbery of farmers, we have stopped 30 paddy trucks here, these are not farmers' trucks but of businessmen. With this, farmers of Punjab will not get fair price of their crop." On the other side, truck drivers are facing trouble due to the protest of farmers. "What is our fault in all this? We are just doing our duty. Let us go, we have loan installments of bank to pay," pleaded a truck driver.

Chittoor District (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 23 (ANI): Task Force Police seized around 16 logs of red sandalwood while conducting raid in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district. Smugglers left the red sander logs and ran away from spot. Red sander logs were seized during combing operation from Srivari Mettu area of Chittoor. Leh (Ladakh), Oct 22 (ANI): LAHDC, Leh Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya informed about the 6th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) election 2020 which was held today (Oct 22). He said that the voter turnout was nearly 65 percent. He also informed that out of 294 polling stations, 57 polling stations were handled by women polling staff completely and 38 polling stations had 75 per cent of women polling staff. People who are above 65 years, COVID-19 patients and specially-abled persons were provided special postal ballet facility. EVMs were used for the first time in Leh council polls.
