Kathmandu, Nov 04 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, on Thursday, received a warm welcome at the 'Nagrik Abhinandan Samaroh' in Kathmandu. The President, along with a 36-member delegation, arrived in Nepal on Wednesday.
Kathmandu, Nepal, Nov 04 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, met various political leaders. Mukherjee, who is the first Indian President to visit Nepal in 18 years, met Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and held separate meetings. Mukherjee also met former president Ram Baran Yadav and former prime minister and CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal earlier in the day. Leaders from both the parties discussed issues of mutual benefit and bilateral interest.

Kathmandu, Nov 02 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee was accorded a guard of honour upon his arrival in Kathmandu. The President, who is on a three-day visit along with a 36-member delegation, was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by his Nepalese counterpart Bidya Devi Bhandari. Mukherjee is scheduled to offer prayers at the world-famous Pashupatinath temple and also visit Kathmandu University, where he will be honoured with an honorary degree. Later tonight, he will attend a dinner hosted by Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
NEPAL, Nov 02 (ANI): Tarai-Madhesh Loktantrik Party on Tuesday gave Rs. 5,000 compensation to the family of Sohan Kalwar, a Birgunj resident who lost his life during the Madhes agitation. The money was handed over to the slain resident's wife during an event marking Diwali celebrations. The victim's family is running a small food shop to fulfill their daily needs. Kalwar is survived by his wife and two children, aged four and two years respectively.

Karachi, Oct 31 (ANI): The Hindu community across Pakistan celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights. In Karachi, around five hundred Hindu men, women and children attended a Diwali gathering in the Swami Narayan Temple, which was illuminated and decorated with buntings to mark the occasion. There was a grand display of fireworks by youngsters. Children participated by setting off fire crackers. Nearby houses also wore a festive look with colourful "rangoli" on the floors of many compounds.

Hani baloch, the daughter of Wahid Baloch also joined the demonstration and demanded the safe release of her father. Islamabad, Oct 28 (ANI): In a tit for tat move, Pakistan foreign ministry spokesman Nafees Zakaria said the government too had declared Surjeet Singh, an official of the Indian High Commission as 'persona non grata'. Zakaria said that Pakistan had solid proof of Indian being involved in state-sponsored terrorist activities in Pakistan.
