Vietnam, Sep 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held delegation level talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is expected that more than 10 agreements ranging from agreements on defence, health and space are going to be signed between the two countries after the talks. Prime Minister Modi has said that his visit to Vietnam is a reinforcement of friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of both the countries.

Hanoi (Vietnam), Sep 02 (ANI): Giving details that this is first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in the last 15 years, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, P. Harish, said that PM Modi's Vietnam visit will give opportunity to the country's new leadership to get to know the latter better. Upon being asked about the India-Vietnam defence ties, the ambassador asked to see the outcomes once the visit gets over. When asked about the South China Sea dispute, the Indian diplomat refused to speculate the discussions between PM Modi and the leadership of Vietnam that is yet to take place. P. Singapore, Sep 02 (ANI): Speaking during the 'Indian Ocean Conference 2016' in Singapore, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal pointed out that Indian Ocean served as an important trade route and development in South Asia was needed to for opportunities to flow through. She said that a system that ensures regional connectivity across Indian Ocean particularly focusing South Asia was needed and United States was helping in doing that. Biswal added that the US understands the need for trans-connectivity and is emphasising on that because it would encourage opportunities for both US and other countries. She said that much of the trade within South Asia could be diversified if infrastructure is developed in South Asia. Biswal said that nearly Rs. 2.5 trillion has been assigned by the World Bank, which would be used for developing transportation, energy, electricity and critical services. Singapore, Sep 02 (ANI): Asserting that India counters toughest problems within its neighbourhood, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar called on the need to push relations with our immediate neighbours. Citing the examples of present relations of India with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, he added that 'neighbourhood first is an expression of priority.' The foreign secretary further said that India will not gain credibility to work beyond if it does not harmonise with its neighbours. Munich (Germany), Aug 31 (ANI): In a bid to highlight the ongoing Baloch genocide, human rights violations and the disappearance of Baloch people in the hands of Pakistani military and intelligence agencies in Balochistan, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) Germany chapter held demonstrations in different cities. The demonstrations were held in Dusseldorf, Berlin and Munich on August 30, which is also marked as "The International Day of the victims of the enforced disappearance" by the Baloch people.The protesters were seen holding placards, which read "stop enforced disappearance in Balochistan." Some were also seen enacting the human rights abuses by Pakistan with chains tied in their hands and blood stains on their shirts.

Muzaffarabad, PoK, Aug 30 (ANI): Arif Shahid, chief of All Party National Alliance (APNA), was assassinated in 2014 for opposing Pakistan's occupation in Kashmir and exposing its unholy alliance with militant groups. Arif Shahid was allegedly assassinated on May 13, 2014 by Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence. He was a nationalist leader, chairman of the APNA and the president of the Jammu Kashmir National Liberation Conference (JKNLC). Till date, none of his assassins have been arrested and the enquiry has been already closed. Shahid was a vociferous opponent of Pakistan's occupation in Kashmir. He exposed Pakistan's design of waging a proxy war with India. Virginia (US), Aug 30 (ANI): Launching a veiled attack at Pakistan for the present unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that a "small percentage" of population is holding the "majority at ransom" in the Kashmir Valley. Addressing a joint news conference with US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter at the Pentagon, Parrikar alleged that "forces from across the border" are trying to spread violence in the Valley. Parrikar said that as far as Kashmir is concerned, the government of India has been very proactive. "A few small percentages are holding the majority to ransom," he said.
Los Angeles, Aug 29 (ANI): Passengers at Los Angeles International Airport were seen running from a terminal and onto a runway after reports of shots fired at the facility emerged. However, after 45 minutes of the reports that created panic at the airport, the LA police stated that reports of the shooting incident at LAX have been proven to be loud noises only. There was no shooting and no injuries. Earlier, social media posts from Los Angeles International Airport described shots fired and police rushing to the scene.
