Rabat (Morocco), June 01 (ANI): Erroneous Indian map depicting Pakistan as a part of India was seen on Mohammad V University campus in Morocco, where Vice President Hamid Ansari is scheduled to address the students. After the interference of Indian officials, the hoarding showing Pakistan was covered with tapes within minutes. The Vice President arrived in Morocco's capital city Rabat on Monday on a three-day visit.

After Mansour slip-up, Pakistan decides to re-verify all National ID cards

Islamabad, May 29 (ANI): After astounding disclosures about a fraudulent national identity card issued to Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour, Pakistan's Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered re-verification of all computerized national identity cards (CNICs) within a period of six months. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad Khan said it was a must to authenticate identities of all nationals because fraudulent CNIC issued to Mullah Mansour under the fake identity of Wali Muhammad, had given the world the impression that anyone could acquire Pakistani identity card.

Japan's Kyosan join hands with TSTS to cater to Indian market

Japan, May 28 (ANI): With an aim of expanding its business in India and neighbouring countries, Kyosan Electric Manufacturing Company Ltd,Japan, last year acquired 36 percent shares in TVM Signalling and Transportation Systems Pvt. India-American boys co-champs in U.S. Spelling Bee contest

New York, May 27 (ANI): Nihar Janga, a fifth-grader from Austin, Texas, and Jairam Hathwar, a seventh-grader from Painted Post, New York, were declared co-champions of the U.S. Scripps National Spelling Bee. The pair battled head to head for 25 rounds in the finals. They ended as co-winners when Jairam, 13, correctly spelled 'feldenkrais', a method of education, and Nihar, 11, aced 'gesellschaft', a type of social relationship. The tie is the third in a row in the Bee, a U.S. institution since 1925, and comes despite the contest introducing tougher rules this year to avoid another deadlock. Jairam and Nihar will each receive a $40,000 cash prize.

Human rights abuse: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not behind any other Pakistani provinces

Iran's Chabahar port to accelerate India's growth: FICCI

Iran, May 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his two-day visit to Iran with the signing of various agreements, including two deals that are being seen as New Delhi's crucial effort to build an economic and strategic pathway towards Central Asia. The most noteworthy of the 12 agreements signed between the two nations is India's investment of $500 million dollars to develop Iran's Chabahar port. Another major development that took place in Tehran during Prime Minister Modi's visit was the trilateral agreement on Transport and Transit Corridor signed by India, Afghanistan and Iran. The Madhesi community has been agitating for the past six months demanding recognition. They want an amendment in the Constitution that will guarantee them equality. The agitation reached capital Kathmandu after the government failed to address their demands. Nepal has been suffering severe economic losses with the ongoing instability in the country. 27-kg heroin seized from aircraft at Karachi airport

Karachi, May 26 (ANI): The Pakistani authorities seized 27 kilograms of fine quality heroin from a passenger aircraft at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Chief Collector of Customs, Zahid Khokhar, said the heroin was concealed in the cavities located on the left of the kitchen of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane. He said the recovery was the result of a credible tip off. Pakistan is a major conduit for drugs flowing out of its western neighbour, Afghanistan, which is the world's largest producer of heroin and a major hashish producer. Production has soared to near record levels in Afghanistan since the overthrow of the Taliban late in 2001.

President Mukherjee woos Chinese investors in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, May 25 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday wooed Chinese investors and said his country was committed to provide an encouraging environment for investments from China. Mukherjee's four-day long visit, on the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, is his first trip to China as president. Addressing the India-China Business Forum in the industrial town of Guangzhou, Mukherjee invited Chinese investors to be part of the India's growth story.
