Islamabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Pakistan Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Khalilullah Qazi on Thursday said that India and Pakistan are in contact to firm up the date for the meeting of the two Foreign Secretaries. He further added that terrorism is a common enemy and the Pakistan Government condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Indonesian President condemns Jakarta terror attack

Jakarta, Jan 14 (ANI): Following a series of explosions and gunfire in Jakarta on Thursday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo urged the people to remain calm. Four suspected attackers were found dead. The area has now been secured by the police.

We aim to provide 24x7 electricity access: Piyush Goyal

Tokyo, Jan 14 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) for Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, who is presently in Tokyo to attend the eighth India-Japan Energy Dialogue, said on Thursday that the primary objective of the government is to make Japanese power firms invest in 'Make in India' to further provide 24x7 electricity access to the people of the country. Goyal said that he discussed and understood the challenges the Indian grids will face, particularly with the infusion of large amount of renewable energy. Goyal further assured that this engagement with the Japanese power companies will be taken to the next level in India.

Not aware of JeM chief's arrest: Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Pakistan Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Khalilullah Qazi on Thursday said that he was not aware of the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Maulana Masood in connection with the Pathankot terror attack. He said that both countries are in contact to firm up the dates for the meeting of the two Foreign Secretaries. He further added that terrorism is a common enemy and the Pakistan Government condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Adoption of energy storage to depend on cost of establishment: Ravi Uppal

At least 4 dead in series of blasts in Jakarta, gunfight on

Jakarta, Jan 14 (ANI): At least four people have been killed in a series of blasts in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, with reports of ongoing gunfire. Police said they suspected a suicide bomber was responsible for at least one the blasts. One blast went off in a Starbucks cafe and security forces were later seen entering the building. According to the official Jakarta police Twitter account one explosion went off in front of a shopping centre, Sarinah mall, on a main city avenue.

'Pepper'Humanoid Robot that reads your emotions

Tokyo, Jan 08 (ANI): Japanese mobile carrier SoftBank has launched a humanoid robot "Pepper" with Aldebaran Robotics. "Pepper" is the world's first personal communication robot that can read emotions, with the ability to analyse people's expressions and voice tones. It is designed to live with humans. SoftBank started leasing of an enterprise model of the humanoid robot Pepper, 'Pepper for Biz'in October last year. Based on the consumer model of Pepper now being sold in Japan, Pepper for Biz is a model that comes with pre-installed applications for use by enterprises, including ones for office reception and approaching potential customers. Man in 'suicide vest' shot dead in Paris

Paris, Jan 07 (ANI): A man in northern Paris has been shot dead outside a police station and was reportedly wearing a suicide vest. According to Sky News, there are mixed reports about the man. Police union sources said that the man attempted to enter the building with a knife before he was shot by officers and cried 'Allahu Akbar' while Le Parisien reported that he was wearing an explosives vest.

Smugglers, protesters clash at Birgunj-Raxaul border point

Nepal, Jan 6 (ANI): A group of smugglers clashed with protesters of the United Democratic Madhesi Front at the India-Nepal border point between Birgunj and Raxaul. The incident happened when a group of around 200 persons from Raxaul tried to supply various goods across the border and the protesting UDMF cadres tried to block them. North Korea says conducted 'successful' hydrogen bomb test

North Korea, Jan 06 (ANI): North Korea on Wednesday said it has carried out a 'successful' hydrogen bomb test. According to sources, an announcement in Pyongyang, said it had carried out a hydrogen blast. Madhesi leader blames Nepal government for not resolving political crisis

Nepal, Jan 5 (ANI): Upendra Yadav, President of Madhesi Peoples Rights Forum, Nepal, blames the government for not resolving the five-month long unrest in the country. After several rounds of talks between the ruling CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist, the main opposition Nepali Congress and agitating Madhesi political parties, there hasn't been any outcome. Yadav alleges the government has deliberately created crisis of fuel and other commodities in the country. Life in southern Nepal plains has been severely affected by the protests against the country's new constitution that was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on September 20, 2015. Students take to streets to demand equal rights to Madhesis

Saptari, Jan 05 (ANI): Around 25,000 students from schools, colleges and vocational training institutes participated in a demonstration in Rajbiraj, the district headquarters of Saptari, accusing the government for not being serious about resolving the Terai unrest. Students chanted slogans against the government during the rally organised by the Madhesi Youth Forum. The rally started from a local stadium, and moved past various parts of the town before converting into a corner meeting at Gajendra Chok in Rajbiraj. For more than four months, the plains of the Nepal Terai have been simmering with protests against the country's new constitution that was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on September 20. Over 55 people, including agitators and police personnel, have been killed during the Madhesi agitation. On January 04, an injured protester, Sekh Mairuddin succumbed to his injuries. Janakpur tense as Madhesi protesters and Police clash

Nepal, Dec 31 (ANI): As the standoff between the government and the Madhesi leaders continue over the adoption of new constitution, several people were injured in Janakpur in a clash between security personnel and cadres of Madhesh Morcha. Madhesi Morcha cadres hurled stones at Janaki Police Post. In retaliation, security personnel wielded baton and lobbed tear- gas shells at them. Madhesis strengthened their protests after Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato was injured in a clash between protesters and police in Biratnagar. There were reports that police have used excessive force' to quell protests in other parts. Madhesis are agitating over the new Constitution demanding more representation. Their protests led to blockade of key border trade points with India. Schools and colleges have remained affected ever since the agitation began. Business activities and market places have also remained shut ever since.
