New York, Sep 26 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Saturday briefed the media on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meetings with leaders of four nations. PM Modi met prime minister of Bhutan, PM of Sweden, Sri Lanka PM and President of Cyprus, and held talks of bilateral and strategic importance. Swarup said that all these nations supported India's bid to be a permanent member of UNSC. He said that all these nations said that the UNSC should be reformed keeping in view the new potential other nations have. The MEA spokesperson also maintained that the meeting with the leaders was positive and they were even invited by PM Modi to visit India or invest in India.

Pak will keep on internationalizing Kashmir issue in absence of bilateral effort between Delhi and Islamabad: Pak journalist

New York, Sep 26 (ANI): Senior Pakistani journalist Wajahat Khan said that the nation will keep on internationalizing the Kashmir issue in the 'absence of bilateral effort' between Delhi and Islamabad. The Pakistani journalist also spoke about how Pakistan has been relentless and open in its attempts to talk with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders. No scheduled meeting between PM Modi and Pak PM: MEA

New York, Sep 25 (ANI): Ministry of external affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Friday said that there is no scheduled meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif. He said that any conversation between the two is not on the slate. Reacting to the allegations made by Pakistan that India was raising a 197-km-long, 10-meter-high and 135-foot-wide wall on the Line of Control (LoC), Swarup said that India was aware of the two letters written by Pakistan to the United Nations. He said there was no fresh letter from Pakistan to the UN. He said that if any action will be taken by the UN, India will respond appropriately. Protesting against India's move, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi on Thursday claimed to have filed two correspondences in the UN, expressing severe reservations over India raising a wall on the LoC - a temporary ceasefire line along Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistani journalists protest thrashing of popular TV Reporter Chand Nawab

Karachi, Sep 25 (ANI): Scores of journalist staged a protest outside Karachi Press Club to condemn the thrashing of Popular Pakistani TV reporter Chand Nawab by railway police a day earlier. Nawab, who shot to fame after a video clip of his reporting inspired Indian directors to add his role in the movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", was beaten up along with his crew at the Karachi Cantt Station by the railway police on Tuesday. Holding banner, the journalist demanded action against those responsible for the incident. Nawab said he was covering scalping of train tickets when the railway officials and police thrashed him and his team members including DSNG driver and engineers. However, it could not be ascertained whether the reporter overstepped his domain in covering the assignment. Nawab complained the government had not taken action despite protests by journalist bodies.
