Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): Reiterating his commitment for the welfare of the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he has been criticised for working hard and added that he would continue to do so. He also said that among all of his meetings in China, the best was that with the youth. Modi said that if any country puts forward its youth it's because it knows that they are the future of the world. Modi also said that there is no doubt that the 21st century belongs to Asia. The Prime Minister is on the final leg of his visit to China. He is later scheduled to depart for the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator.

PM Modi addresses Indian community in Shanghai, says it's like mini-India (Part - 2)

Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the members of the Indian community in Shanghai. Modi said that nobody could ever have imagined that so many members of the Indian community live peacefully in China, saying that Shanghai is like a mini-India. He said that he had emerged victorious in last year's elections whose results were announced on the same day last year adding that he is happy to have got such an opportunity to come before Indian people in China. He further said that he had made several promises before elections which he has fulfilled. Modi also thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for travelling to Xi'an to welcome him.

Stage set for PM Modi to interact with diaspora at Indian Community Reception

Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): Looks like yet another rock show is in making as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the Indian Community Reception being held at Shanghai on Saturday. Indian diaspora was seen cheering in excitement as they queued up to see the prime minister of India. The stage is all set for the 'rockstar Indian PM' with decorations along with Indian and Chinese national flags. A sketch of PM Modi is also in making as the Indian regional music is being played by the musicians at the venue. PM Modi is to arrive shortly at the reception and will also address the diapora eagerly waiting for him.

Hong Kong Based Businessman Nooruddin Ibrahim applauded the prime minister's initiative. Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka maintained that India and China are working together and are in process to create huge opportunities. Welspun Group Chairman BK Goenka said that with this visit, Inia and China relations will grow and the trade deficit will shrink. He also said that 'Brand India' is moving forward under PM Modi.

Bottling plant at Kailash Mansarovar to make 'sacred water' available in India

Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): Indian origin Vaishali has taken a 'religious responsibility' of making sacred water from Kailash Mansarovar available for other Indians who could not visit China. Vaishali decided to set up the plant a few years back when she was on a trip to the Kailash Mansarovar. She said that the bottle will be made available in India from October and it would cost Rs 80 per unit. The bottle features caps made of 'rudraksh' and comes with a scroll of Shiva mantras.

Business heads of Chinese companies hail meeting with PM Modi

Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met 22 top Chinese CEOs in Shanghai and exhorted them to 'Make in India', pitching India's potential as a manufacturing hub, the company heads hailed the meeting. Huaneng Huabei GM Wang Lijun said that China will welcome companies from India to seek business opportunities in Dalian City and that the city is well prepared for future investments. IL and FS Group (financial services) CEO Ramesh C Bawa said that two agreements were signed between ILFS and ICBC and that the company is focused on progressing infrastructure projects. Bharti Enterprises Vice President Rajan Bharti Mittal applauded the prime minister's visit and said that he had came in China with clear agenda of enhancing relationship. PM Modi, who flew to Shanghai on Friday evening from Beijing where he held talks with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, will also address the India-China Business Forum.

PM Modi meets CEOs of major Chinese companies

Shanghai, May 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the third day of his three-day China visit met the CEOs of major Chinese Companies. He is expected to make a strong pitch for his 'Make in India' campaign and woo investors. The prime minister, who arrived in the financial city of Shanghai on Friday, is also scheduled to meet the secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) Han Zheng and Mayor of Shanghai Yang Xiong today. Earlier on Friday, Indian delegates led by Modi and Chinese officials led by Premier Li Kequang held talks in Beijing. China and India pledged to cool festering border dispute and to boost cooperation between the two Asian giants. Modi also visited the Tsingua University and witnessed a yoga Tai chi joint event.

Kabul hotel attack: Mortal remains of 4 Indian nationals arrive in Delhi

New Delhi, May 15 (ANI): The mortal remains of 4 Indian nationals, who lost their lives in Kabul terror attack, arrived in Delhi on Friday. The attack at a guesthouse in Afghanistan's capital Kabul ended with at least 14 deaths. Gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles burst into the Park Palace guesthouse in downtown Kabul late Wednesday, trapping several foreigners and leading to crossfire with security forces. The siege ended early on Thursday after hours of shootout and three of the armed assailants were killed, police said. Dozens of hostages were evacuated and at least five ambulances were present at the scene after police cordoned off roads surrounding the hotel. Gunshots and blasts could be heard until midnight. The guesthouse is located close to a UN office and a diplomatic compound. In a statement, the Afghan Taliban had claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it targeted the hotel because of the presence of foreigners, including Americans.
