Symphony to air cool 'Makro' chain of super-markets in Central America

After executing and commissioning a pilot project of central air-cooling the first location of Dutch-owned 'Makro' chain of super-markets in Colombia, Ahmedabad-based air cooler company Symphony Ltd's Mexican subsidiary Impco S.De. RL.De. CV is in talks with the retail chain to air-cool its other super-markets.

The company said here in a statement, "After completing this order from 'Makro', Symphony is hopeful to expand its industrial and commercial cooling business in South American market. Recently company also entered into tie up with retail giant, Carrefour in Indonesia. Globally, company's products have been endorsed by a number of corporate giants, namely General Electric (Illinois, USA), Wal-Mart Stores etc."
 

Achal Bakeri, chairman and managing director, Symphony Ltd said, "This project was awarded to Impco after meeting Makro's stringent performance and quality parameters and their exhaustive technical evaluation. We are hopeful that this will help expand our industrial cooling business not only in Colombia, but in other countries of South America as well." In the year 2008, Symphony Ltd acquired Mexico based Impco Air Coolers, a cooler manufacturing company that patented the cooling technology called 'evaporative cooling' and one of the largest global manufacturers of industrial and commercial air coolers. In 2010, Symphony launched industrial and commercial cooling solutions in India.

"During the year company executed orders for renowned clients, namely Asian Paints, DHL, Dixon Technologies, Swaminarayan Temple, ISKCON Temple and Marico, among others," the company statement said. The company has reported a sales of Rs 390 crore and a net profit of Rs 60 crore in 2012-13.
