Special trains have also been started for evacuation purposes and special officers are deployed at Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar and New Delhi. Special railway helpline numbers along with paramedical and railway police personnel have been deputed at these locations.
A special task force has also been set up under the Railway Board chairman Vinay Mittal to monitor the situation. Railways have also set up additional booking and enquiry counters, along with adequate arrangement of catering and drinking water facilities. and other passenger related services has also been set up at Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun.
