Zinc down 0.1% on weak overseas trend

Zinc futures prices today edged lower by 0.13% to Rs 117.20 per kg as speculators reduced positions, taking weak cues from the overseas market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October shed 15 paise, or 0.13%, to Rs 117.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 217 lots.
The metal for delivery in November fell by 10 paise, or 0.08% to Rs 118.50 per kg in a turnover of three lots.
In the international market, zinc prices fell by 0.1% at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the LME as US lawmakers continued talks to avoid a breach of the nation's debt limit, mainly kept pressure on zinc futures trade.
