Bee attack in Odisha state secretariat

The state secretariat here was today attacked by a swarm of bees when a group of tribal people were at its lawn to shoot a promotional video, official sources said.

Several government officials, security personnel and media persons were also attacked by the bees.

Some of these people were taken to hospital, all had been released after first aid, the sources said.

The tribal people belonging to 62 tribes from nine districts of the state are scheduled to participate in a programme tomorrow.

They had assembled at the secretariat lawn to shoot a promotional video with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
 

The shooting was cancelled in view of the bees attack, the sources said.
