Dalit girl allegedly raped

A 13-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a man in Gandhi Camp area here, police said today.

In a complaint lodged with police, the girl said the incident happened some six months ago.

The girl alleged a woman in her neighbourhood took her to one Vimal Kumar who raped her, according to police.

The man threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone, the girl said in the complaint.

The victim informed her uncle, with whom she was staying, about the incident when the man again tried to rape her on June 27, the complaint said.
 

Both the woman and Kumar were absconding, police said adding efforts were on to nab them.
