A bomb blast occurs inside the historic Masjid in during Friday prayers at about 13.25 hours leaving nine persons dead and 58 others injured;

A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court acquits five persons including in the case, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove charges against them.

The court of the Fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge and Special Judge for NIA cases finds Devendra Gupta, Lokesh Sharma, Swami Aseemanand, Bharat Mohanlal Rateshwar and not guilty and acquits them of all the charges.
