Senior IPS officer Vishwas Nangre Patil, awaiting posting after promotion, has been appointed as special IG, Aurangabad.
Nangre Patil was earlier Additional Commissioner of Police (ACB), Home department officials said today.
He replaced Amitesh Kumar, who is posted as Commissioner of Police, Aurangabad, they said.
