Subhash Ghai's blockbuster Taal starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwariya Rai and Akshaye Khanna is the first Hindi film to appear on the Top 20 box-office charts in the US in 1999 at the 20th position. The film raked in $3,66,178 in 10 days, with an average of $8,322 a day.

Shivcharan (72) of Rajasthan has given new meaning to the adage 'there is no age limit for learning'. He failed his Class X board exams 37 times in a row. He had taken a vow four decades earlier that he would not get married till he passes this exam.

Lok Sabha Television Channel, launched as a 24-hour channel on July 24,2006, and run by Sansad Television Network under the Lok Sabha Secretariat, is the world's first TV channel operated by the legislature of a country.

Dubbed as Speaker Somnath Chatterjee's brainchild, the new channel aims to take Parliament closer to the people. It is run by Bhaskar Ghose, former secretary to government and DG Doordarshan.
