$1.1 mn to strengthen Pizza Corner, Coffee World brands

Global Franchise Architects (GFA), the Geneva-based company which owns Pizza Corner, plans to invest $1.1 million this year towards strengthening its brands Pizza Corner and Coffee World in India. It also plans to introduce Cream & Fudge (dessert parlour) and New York Deli (sandwich lounge) in India.
 
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Anoop Sequeira said that for two years, 2005-06 and 2006-07, GFA had set a budget of $2 million. Of these close to $1 million was used in 2005-06 and the balance is being utilised this year to strengthen our brands and also to introduce Cream & Fudge and New York Deli in India.
 
Presently, the company has 47 Pizza Corner outlets and has plans to double it by the end of 2006-07 with emphasis on opening more outlets in northern and western India. Coffee World, currently concentrated in Bangalore with four outlets is expected to expand pan-India through area franchising model.
 
According to Anoop Sequeira, new brands "" Cream & Fudge and New York Deli are expected to be launched in Bangalore by end of the year and would be taken to other parts of the country in phases.
 
Pizza Corner also announced the launch of a range of cone-shaped pizzas (Conizza) in the range of Rs 60-80.
