Photon Plus+, a high speed internet access service of Tata Teleservices Limited, was launched here today by union agriculture minister Prof K V Thomas.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Tata's has been in the forefront in all sectors where they have their footprint. The newly launched service would give added speed to Tata Indicom and internet services in Kochi, the hub of the state's industrial development, he said.
Karun Menon, Chief Operating Officer (Kerala) of the company, said the Photon+ service, priced at Rs 3500 could be accessed using two devices-Router for SMEs and Business Enterprises,which is configured with an in-built modem and has Wi-Fi capabilities and USB Modem, for individual users.
"The awareness and demand for wireless Internet connectivity is increasing rapidly and with laptop and PC sales showing exponential growth, there is a huge demand for wireless high-speed Internet access," he said.
Photon+ Internet access service allows customers to be connected-not only for mails, but also downloads, large files uploads and photo sharing. It allows users to send and receive SMS and is compatible with laptops and desktop PCs, he said.
