Aegis, Britannia, Bajaj Electricals quarterly results

Aegis profit at Rs 23.60 crore
 
Aegis Logistics posted an operating revenue of Rs 240.35 crore and net profit of Rs 23.60 crore. The board has recommended a dividend of 25 per cent for the year. Operating revenues for the March quarter was at Rs 65.51 crore on account of increase in LPG business, while net profit stood at Rs 6.88 crore.
 
Britannia Q4 net up 43% on higher sales
 
Assisted by higher sales, Britannia Industries has posted a net profit of Rs 39.8 crore during Q4 2006-07, up 43 per cent, compared with the corresponding period last year.
 
Total income for the period also went up to Rs 607.9 crore, an increase of 30 per cent over Q4 2005-06, the company informed the BSE. However, the company has witnessed 26.5 per cent dip in its net profit for the entire financial year. It earned a net profit of Rs 107.6 crore compared with Rs 146.4 crore during 2005-06. The company's top line for 2006-07 has gone up to Rs 2,228.6 crore compared with Rs 1,735 crore in the previous financial year, an increase of 28 per cent. Britannia Industries has declared dividend at the rate of Rs 15 per equity share of Rs 10 each.
 
Bajaj Electricals Q4 bottom line up 39%
 
Bajaj Electricals posted a net profit of Rs 18.91 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, compared with Rs 13.58 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year, up 39 per cent. The company registered net sales of Rs 372.42 crore during the quarter, 27.09 per cent higher compared with Rs 293.03 crore in the corresponding period last year. For the financial year 2006-07, the company posted a net profit of Rs 38.53 crore, a growth of 37 per cent from Rs 28.20 crore last year. Net sales for the year stood at Rs 1,078.86 crore compared with Rs 845.4 crore in the previous year, higher by 27.61 per cent. The company has entered the rural electrification sector to reap the benefits of reforms in the Indian power sector.
 
It received an order worth Rs 53 crore to electrify 40,000 below poverty line (BPL) families across 900 villages in Chhattisgarh. Shekhar Bajaj, chairman and managing director, Bajaj Electricals, said in a statement, "The board has recommended an issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1. The directors have also recommended that the interim dividend of 80 per cent be treated as the final dividend." "We have invested and acquired 32 per cent stake in Starlite Lighting and this will act as a strong pivot for our ambitious growth plan in CFLs. We have also plans for entering new categories such as inverters, gas appliances and water dispensers," he added.
