| Alfa Laval Q1 net profit declines |
| Alfa Laval India has reported a lower net profit of Rs 17.2 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2005 as against Rs 23.46 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal. Total income grew to Rs 129.4 crore (Rs 125.9 crore). |
| The figures of the current quarter include operating results of the erstwhile wholly-owned subsidiary Skansen Engineering & Consultancy Company, which was merged with the company with effect from April 1, 2004 and are hence not strictly comparable, it said. |
| Blue Dart net up 35.13% |
| Blue Dart Ltd has posted a 35.13 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 36.35 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, 2005, compared with Rs 26.90 crore for the previous fiscal. |
| The board has recommended a dividend of Rs three per share for the reporting fiscal, Blue Dart said in a release. Total income for the reporting fiscal grew to Rs 463.01 crore (Rs 355.36 crore). |
| Cognizant Q1 income up 62% |
| Cognizant Technology Solutions' net income for the first quarter ended March 31, 2005, increased 62 per cent to $31.97 million from $19.78 million in the same period last year. Revenues jumped 52 per cent to $181.68 million ($119.74 million). |
| The company anticipates its second quarter revenue to be at least $206 million, including an expected contribution from Fathom (a consulting company it acquired recently) of approximately $6 million. |
