Allianz Asia Pacific appoints Kamesh Goyal as CEO

Private insurer Bajaj Allianz today said Kamesh Goyal has been appointed as CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific.

Goyal, currently serving as the Country Manager of Allianz and Managing Director and CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, will be based at Singapore, the private insurer said in a statement here.

He would continue to remain as Allianz Country Manager for India, it said.

Goyal had joined Allianz in 1999 and was the COO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance in 2001. He took over as its CEO in 2004, as Country Manager and MD and CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance in 2007.

The company also appointed V Philip, currently COO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, as the new CEO from February 2011, it said adding that this appointment is subject to approval from the regulator.

"I am confident that Philip, who has been with Bajaj Allianz since inception, would be able to maintain the leadership position of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance. Hemant Kaul would continue to lead Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. Both the companies continue to do well in the current environment," Bajaj Finserv Limited MD Sanjiv Bajaj said.
