Alok Industries, Camlin & Deepak Fertilisers Q3 results

Alok Industries net up 26%
 
Alok Industries, a vertically integrated textile player, has posted an increase of 25.67 per cent in its net profit to Rs 37 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with Rs 29.49 crore in the corresponding previous quarter in the last year.
 
The company's net sales grew to Rs 479.92 crore against Rs 366.41 crore, up 30.98 per cent. The operating profit for the December quarter was Rs 110.56 crore compared with Rs 78.2 crore in the same period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs 2.18 against Rs 1.65.
 
Camlin posts Rs 85 lakh loss
 
Camlin has posted a net loss of Rs 85.4 lakh for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, compared with a loss of Rs 4.77 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2005. Net sales for the period were Rs 35.55 crore, 21.22 per cent lower compared with Rs 45.13 crore for the corresponding quarter in December 2005.
 
The results are not comparable to the previous year as they include the numbers of the fine chemicals division which was demerged from Camlin, effective from July 1, 2006.
 
Deepak Fertilisers PAT up to Rs 25 cr
 
Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (DFPCL) has announced growth in sales and net profit in the third quarter of 2006-07.
 
Net sales improved 70 per cent to Rs 243.29 crore against Rs 143.40 crore in third quarter of 2005-06, while profit-after-tax for the third quarter shoot up to Rs 24.74 crore against Rs 15.82 crore in the previous corresponding quarter in 2005-06, a rise of 56 per cent.
 
The company's chemicals business grew to Rs 165.78 crore in third quarter of 2006-07 against Rs 101.49 crore in third quarter of 2005-06.
