Alstom net up at Rs 31.30cr

Alstom Projects saw a surge in net profit for the quarter ended September to Rs 31.30 crore from Rs 11.50 crore in Q2 last year. Net sales rose 18.3 per cent to Rs 267.70 crore (Rs 226.20 crore).

The company recently bagged four major orders worth Rs 330 crore from NTPC, Tata Power, Nalco and GEA Energy Systems.

In August 2006, the company bagged $8 million order to supply and erect hydro-mechanical equipment for a hydropower project in Laos. The contract was signed with CH Karnchang (Lao) Co, a subsidiary of Thailand's CH Karnchang PCL.
