Amar Remedies net at Rs 7 cr

Amar Remedies has posted a net profit of Rs 7.08 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Gross profit stood at Rs 7.23 crore with net sales of Rs 42.13 crore during the quarter under review.

As the company was listed this financial year, the comparabale figures were not available.

During the second quarter the company's net profit was at Rs 5.23 crore with net sales of Rs 36.92 crore. Comparable figures were not available as the company was not listed with the stock exchanges during the third quarter of the last year.

Amar Remedies, which entered the capital market in August 2005, is a leading manufacture and exporter of ayurvedic products. the company is now planning to expand its Surat plant.

Amar laos plans to set up a research, development and analytical laboratory at its Surat factory. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 8.7 crore. Commercial production at its new facility is expected to start next month.
