Amul girl pays tribute to Kurien

In a true spirit of Amul, a tribute was paid to its founder Verghese Kurien, who passed away yesterday, through the iconic moppet (Amul girl).
As per Amul tradition of depicting current developments of national importance, Amul topical was released on Monday on the official website of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), thanking the 'Father of White Revolution' for his contributions.
"Thank you for giving us Hausla, Pragati and Anand," the Amul ad read, showing the milk producer community paying homage to their 'father'.
Suitably, the three words used in the hoarding bears larger meaning, with 'Hausla' - meaning courage, 'Pragati' - meaning development of farmers associated with Amul and 'Anand' indicating the place, where Amul originated.
The Amul moppet or popularly referred as Amul Girl is known for its topical, humour, satire and memorable hoarding on the current developments of national importance.
Amul moppet has become iconic as it traced how Amul evolved as a brand by commenting on the popular political and social culture of India over the past four decades.
