APGenco net profit up 27 per cent

Revenues increased 6.75 per cent at Rs 4,617 crore from Rs 4,325 crore last year, which was also the highest in the annals of the APGenco, chairman SV Prasad told the media.

The company earned a cumulative profit of Rs 201 crore after wiping out the accumulated losses up to 2005-06. There are no outstanding payments now, he said, adding the company was working to bring down the production costs from the present average Rs 1.42 per unit. The cost per unit sent out by APGenco is Rs 1.44 now.

 

The company is executing 17 power projects with a total capacity 9,155 Mw at an estimated cost of Rs 36,386 crore.
