The Zonal Training Centre & Automotive Centre of Excellence of Ashok Leyland has been opened in the campus of Centurion University. The centre was inaugurated by Subhalakshmi Panse, Chairperson cum Managing Director, Allahabad Bank.
The centre is designed and developed to train, skill, up-skill and re-skill dealers, service technicians, and repair and maintenance engineers. Diploma, BTech & MTech students would be benefitted from the centre of Excellence through live experience and training. The focus in on hands on knowledge, experience based learning and practice oriented pedagogy while targeting the lower end of the economic pyramid. Panse also visited the Production Unit of the University where components of aero engines and automobiles are manufactured. She appreciated greatly the skill development initiative of the University.
Centurion University runs various skills development and vocational training courses in as many as 35 trades on its campus for school and college dropouts from socio-economically marginalized communities.
