Ballarpur Industries net up 22 %

The Gautam Thapar-controlled Ballarpur Industries (Bilt), the country's largest paper manufacturer, has registered 22 per cent growth in its net profit for the third quarter ended March 31 due to higher sales and increase in prices.
 
The company's profit for the quarter stood at Rs 64.1 crore against Rs 52.5 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The net revenue for the quarter jumped by 15.4 per cent to Rs 603 crore from Rs 522.3 crore last year.
 
For the nine months ended March 31 revenues stood at Rs 1,782.9 crore, up 18.52 per cent from last year's Rs 1504.2 crore. Net profit for the same period stood at Rs 184.4 crore, up 27.9 per cent from previous year's Rs 144.1 crore.
 
"The contribution from paper price increase for the 9 month was Rs 30 crore. The demand for paper continues to remain firm," said B Hariharan, group finance director of the company.
