Britannia Q1 net up 27% to Rs 42 cr

FMCG major Britannia today posted a 27.32% increase in its net profit to Rs 41.80 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as against the same period last fiscal.

The company, which sells biscuits and dairy products, had a net profit of Rs 32.83 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Britannia said in a statement.

During the reporting period, Britannia had a net sales of Rs 1,106.29 crore, a 21.36% increase from Rs 911.54 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

"This is our 6th consecutive quarter of 20% growth across all businesses. We have also launched several new products like 'Vita Marie Honey Oats', 'Britannia Gourmet Cheese', 'Tiger Zor – Badam Milk' etc," Britannia Managing Director Vinita Bali said.

 

The company said it will continue to focus on cost effectiveness, operational efficiencies and driving consumer off-take to generate profitable growth.
