CIL misses October output target by 5%

State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) has recorded an output of 44.37 million tonnes (mt) during the month of October, the miner said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
The miner has met 95 per cent of its production target for the current period. For the period, CIL had set a production target of 46.84 mt. The offtake of coal at the miner's end stood at 44.41 mt during the month against the target of 44.31 mt.
On a cumulative basis, CIL's production stood at 273.91 mt against a target of 282.33 mt, thus meeting 97 per cent of its target and registering a growth of 9.2 per cent over the corresponding period during the last financial year. Coal off take for the period registered a growth of 9.9 per cent at 295.80 mt against 269.15 mt during the year-ago period.
