With a sharp run-up in the broader indices, the defensives see some profit booking. Amongst pharma majors Dr Reddy’s too has seen some correction in last few days. This is despite a strong momentum in new product launches in the US during the month of September. On Thursday the company announced launch of antibiotic- Amoxycillin in various dosage forms as tablets, capsules and oral Suspension. As per the IMS data for twelve months ending June’12 the tablets enjoyed US sales of $22.2 million, capsules $67.2 million and oral suspension $89.5 million. This also marks the second launch in the current year from the company’s acquired GSK oral penicillin factory in the US. The first launch was that of generics of antibiotic brand Augmentin.
