Eli Lilly appoints Edgard Olaizola as MD for India, Sri Lanka

Olaizola will succeed Melt Van Der Spuy who has been promoted to the position of VP for Elanco Animal Health

Drug firm Eli Lilly and Company India today said it has appointed Edgard Olaizola as the company's Managing Director for operations in India and Sri Lanka with effect from September 1, 2013.

Olaizola will succeed Melt Van Der Spuy who has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Emerging Markets (Latin America and Asia Pacific) for Elanco Animal Health, a fully owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and company.

He brings with him over 13 years of experience in Eli Lilly, with a host of senior level positions across different markets, including US, Canada, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.

Commenting on the development, Edgard Olaizola said: "India is one of the key markets for Lilly in Asia, with an immense opportunity to positively impact the lives of patients with our quality products and services."
 

Olaizola holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello and has completed his post graduation in business management from Washington University in St Louis.
