Bs Reporter Chennai/ Mysore
The Bangalore-based 21st Century Securitas launched its 24-hour security system facility in Mysore.

Mysore is the second city after Bangalore to avail of the most modern security systems to prevent thefts and fires in houses, business establishments or in corporate houses.

The 21st Century Securitas CEO B N Narahari demonstrated the security system gadgets at a press meet on Wednesday and said, "We will launch 10 central monitoring system (CMS) stations by January 15 and take it to around 50 in two months, depending upon the response."

The package comprises of gadgets like a control panel, magnetic door contacts, a speaker, a CCTV camera with 30 km range and a night-vision camera. The package comes with gas and smoke-detection devices. All these are controlled by a computer-monitored set up. A special software has been developed for the purpose.

Coming with an electronic circuit, the control panel can store 40 phone numbers for alerting the subscriber in case of theft or robbery attempts.

The magnetic door and window contacts are connected through telephone to the CMS centre, the nearest police station and centres at the city police commissioner's office for sending signals within seconds.

The speaker raises an alarm siren at 120 decibels and it can be heard up to a distance of 200m when the doors or windows are forcibly opened. The 30-km range CCTV cameras record the intruders and the customer can view what is happening in the premises in his absence through the Internet, even over a mobile phone.

On receipt of any message, the 24-hour CMS service centre, equipped with a computer network and five trained security guards, will alert the customer or relatives/friends of the incident over the mobile phone. Its guards will rush to the spot and coordinate with the police in preventing a crime or mishap, Narahari explained.

Apart from extensions, the CMS stations are also proposed at the police commissioner's office and the DCP offices and discussions are being held with the police department in this regard, he said.

The firm has already provided its security system to 35 houses at Jayanagar in Bangalore soon after its maiden launch. Some corporate houses have also evinced interest.

The security system comes at an affordable Rs 15,000 for a common two-bedroom house and goes up to Rs 2 lakh, depending upon the security network required. There will be a subscriber's fee for the CMS services.

While the technology is from Israel and the cameras are imported, the other gadgets are manufactured at Noida.
