FMI plans mall in Ludhiana

As part of its diversification plans, Ludhiana-based FMI Ltd announced setting up a mall-cum-multiplex""Silver Arc""in the city on Saturday.
 
The group is diversifying from producing measuring instruments to real estate. The multiplex will be operational by the end of 2007. It will house a PVR hall with six screens.
 
Giving details of the project, Ajay Nayar, director and promoter of FMI Ltd said, "PVR and Pantaloons, the biggest names in entertainment and retail respectivrly, should ensure maximum footfalls. PVR has planned a top-of-the-line six-screen multiplex for the multiplex, which will include the upmarket 'Gold Class' . Pantaloons will be situated on three floors. An area of 40,000 square feet has been dedicated to the most progressive and largest retailer in the country. We are committed to bring a state -of-the-art lifestyle family store here."
 
The mall is designed by renowned architect Sanjay Puri from Mumbai who has an experience of over 60 such projects in the country. Special emphasis has been given to the positioning, visibility and circulation by providing a large atruim, and placing the department store at the back of the mall and the cinema halls on top.
 
The mall will have an optimum mix of national and international shopping opportunitites, food outlets, and entertainment.
 
Around 75 per cent of the mall has already been leased to the best international and national brands like Nike, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, Woodlands , Archies, Sensa, Lilliput, Lee Cooper etc. "One floor is being fully dedicated to the top designers of the country," Nayar added.
 
A plush ambience is being specifically designed to suit the elements of chic couture, fashion, wedding and trousseau shopping on this floor.
 
Fine dinning, food court and an internationally renowned coffee bistro completes the global experience for the family.;
