GSK Consumer launches two new products

Glaxo SmithKline Consumer Healthcare, the health food drink major, today launched two products "" Horlicks Lite, a malted beverage, and Horlicks Lite Bite, a biscuit brand. These products are specially for diabetics.
 
Announcing the launch here, Anindya Dasgupta, general manager- category innovation (nutritionals) said, "The two products are certified and endorsed by Diabetes India and are launched for the growing diabetic population in the country." However, he added that doctors' consultation is necessary before the intake of their products.
 
Diabetes India is an association of doctors and other diabetes experts. It is a private association, said company officials.
 
Horlicks Lite comprises 26 vital nutrients including all vitamins and minerals, but without sugar. The drink is available in two flavours- regular malt and coffee. Besides a 500 gram jar, Horlicks Lite is also available in 50 gram sachets.
 
Horlicks Lite Bite is a biscuit with high fibre content and no added sucrose. The biscuit is available in wheat flavour but it will hit the market soon in other flavours too, Gupta added.
 
He said that the company plans to lead the Rs 1,300 crore health food drink market by setting up strong bases in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
