JK Tyre, SBH, Subros quaterly results

JK Tyre net rises 283%
 
Tyre major J K Tyre and Industries posted a net profit increase of 283 per cent at Rs 13.75 crore in the second quarter ended March 31, against Rs 3.59 crore for the same quarter of the previous year.The total sales during this period increased by 20.5 per cent at Rs 848.59 crore, compared with Rs 706.81 crore in the corresponding period last year.
 
The operating profit of the company grew by 57 per cent at Rs 62.40 crore in the quarter against Rs 39.70 crore for the same corresponding period.For the half year ended March, the company registered a net profit of
 
Rs 21.92 crore. During this period the company increased it gross sales by 17 per cent at Rs 1592 crore.
 
Subros profit dips 16.61 per cent
 
Automotive air conditioners maker Subros posted a net profit dip of 16.61 per cent for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 8.08 crore, against Rs 9.69 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company attributed the decline primarily to increased staff and finance costs besides higher depreciation provision for new manufacturing plants at Manesar in Haryana and Pune in Maharashtra. The total turnover of the company during the quarter stood at Rs 213.78 crore from the sale of 1,33,581 automotive airconditioners. The profit before tax stood at Rs 40.02 crore against Rs 35.09 crore in the previous year. The airconditioner sales during the same period ended March 31 stood at 4,67,478 units, taking the turnover to Rs 755 crore for the entire fiscal.
 
SBH Q4 net up 67 per cent
 
State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), the largest associate bank of State Bank of India, posted a 67.14 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 199.55 crore for the quarter ended March 2007, compared with Rs 119.39 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous year. The bank's business during the quarter grew 64.18 per cent to Rs 5,555 crore from Rs 3,383 registered during the last quarter of 2005-06.
 
For 2006-07, SBH posted a 18.37 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 505.50 crore, compared with Rs 427.04 crore in the previous year. The total business during the year touched Rs 70,530 crore, registering an annual growth rate of 25.71 per cent. The company has declared a dividend of 400 per cent for the year.
