Kanpur-based MKU acquires German firm

This acquisition will upgrade MKU's capacity and expertise in its existing line of armouring systems. AST specialises in armouring air and sea vehicles like helicopters, frigates and boats.

The acquired company has a turnover of Rs 13-14 crore in 2007 and is manned by 12 persons. It is a technology-led acquisition. There are synergies. MKU will supply armoured panels and the German company will do the armouring.

 

With this acquisition, AST will get the international customer base of MKU and the latter in turn will be able to supply its products to 35 NATO countries, as the German firm is enlisted as a NATO supplier.

The acquired company's separate existence will be maintained. MKU has seen explosive growth in the past five years and reached a turnover of Rs 125 crore last fiscal.
