Koutons proposes 1,000 outlets

The company, which currently has a network of 225 outlets, opened a franchisee here on Sunday. In the next few weeks, the company would open outlets in Bangalore, Chennai and other southern cities, H S Sidhu, executive vice-president of Koutons, said.

Sidhu told mediapersons that Koutons had targeted to achieve a turnover of Rs 500 crore during 2006-07 as compared to Rs 168 crore last year.

The company has earmarked Rs 150 crore for the expansion plans.Doubling of outlets would help the company achieve the target, he said.

Koutons managing director O P S Kohi said the company would foray into selling women's wear from next year.
